Title: Upload to FTP site
Post by: Dutch Peter on March 25, 2003, 11:58:02 am
I just upgraded from version 124 to 133. I seem to have lost the possibility to upload files to ftp sites.

Is this true, or am I overlooking this feature?

Any suggestions.

Peter

It's there.  Right click on a file and then go to Programs/Web or FTP Server.

Yes!! Great.
Trying it I found that the 'Progress Window' is very poor. At first I had the feeling it crashed. Later it came with the message that the transfer was completed.

Could you please review the progress window!?

Thanks ....

We know about that one.  It just isn't fixed yet.

I can't get it to work at all (MC9 B133).

Using ftp://home.revealed.net/ with port 21 (default...maybe this is the problem...tried 80 but always reverts back to 21) and a non-anonymous log-in. Can ftp log in from a web page (which is not asking for a port) but not from MC (getting "Unable to connect to host").

xen,
It is working in that build.

21 is the default port for FTP, as you know.  Passive FTP just uses that single port.  Ordinary (non-passive) opens a port higher than 1024.  I'm not sure which we are using.  We have a guy on vacation this week or I'd ask.

If you'll send me an e-mail, I'll tell you how you can upload to our server (as a test).

Thanks again Jim

If anyone has trouble with this...

Turns out the "ftp://" part is implied

so in my case...
home.revealed.net
works fine in the location field

Subfolder creation DOES work..for instance...
home.revealed.net/test
creates subdirectory called "test"
