Title: Snap Layouts for Desktop Apps on Windows 11 - Doesn't Work in Media Centre
Post by: Richard Martin on December 22, 2021, 05:28:37 am
This article describes snap layouts for desktop apps on Windows 11 https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/desktop/modernize/apply-snap-layout-menu (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/apps/desktop/modernize/apply-snap-layout-menu) but it doesn't work in 28.0.94 64 bit.  The article says "Why doesn't my app show the snap layouts menu? If your app's main window has the maximize caption button available but does not show snap layouts, it may be because you've customized your caption buttons or title bar in a way that prevents it."
As far as I know I haven't customised the caption buttons or title bar. Is this a "bug" in Media Centre.

You haven't customised anything but MC and all the Skin Creators Have and that is probably what is stopping snap layouts from working

Media Center uses its own system for window drawing, skinning and all that, so features like snap layouts on Windows 11 and the full screen stuff in macOS will not work, unfortunately. In fact, the maximize button you see used in Media Center is just an image the skin you're using uses, it doesn't actually use the OS' native minimize/maximize/restore/close buttons.
