Title: How to sort files by filenames (video panes)
Post by: creal on January 11, 2022, 02:47:10 am
Hello,

I have a left pane view for a video folder. On the main window, I see the videos filtering thanks to the selection of the left pane. So far so good. But I noticed that the videos are sorted (and displayed) by titles. I would like to sort them (and display them, if possible) by filenames. The thing is that they all are video courses, named "01.Intro", "02.How to...", "03.Perfect...", etc.

Thanks for helping,

creal.

In your main window area, you will see the title of your view at the top.  There's a down arrow next to it.  Click the arrow and you'll get a menu, including "sort by".  Select what you want there and it should work for you.

Hello blgentry,

Thanks for your message. It could be working that way. But when I click on "custom" and select "filename (name)", the field adds to the custom list but not to the "sort by" list. Therefore, I cannot choose to sort by a custom field. What did I make wrong?

EDIT: resolved by saving a new preset. The "custom" list is in fact a "preset" list. Thanks again.
