Title: mj8 to mj9: all track numbers off by one!
Post by: dick on March 23, 2003, 07:32:31 am
When upgrading from mj8 to mj9, the track number is off by one for every track in the database. They are plus one from what they should be (i.e., 1, 2, 3... converts to 2, 3, 4...)

This is at least one reason all the albums appear in the "incomplete" list.

I think i rember this to be a bug when using windows Media files.

you can fix this by using search and replace in MJ9 or by just selecting all track #2, and changing it to # "1"

Indeed, I'm using wma files.

Thanks for the tip. It was a bit labor intensive to edit nearly 5000 files, but MJ's excellent tools made the task go relatively fast.

One problem remains: all albums with multiple artists are listed as "single artist (incomplete)". Near as I can tell, the artist name is the only difference. Seems to me they should be grouped under "multiple artists (complete)" Is this a bug, or can I fix this too?

Of course, the mj8 library conversion bug should be fixed!

i dont know anything about complete or in-complete.

since I only put the songs that a the billboard top 100 on my computer (23,000 or so mp3's) so all are in-complete.
