Title: Is there a way to have a list in tag window for genre?
Post by: 4BYE on January 28, 2022, 07:27:08 am
Is there a way I can change "standard" to "list" for the genre tag? I have movie that I want to give more different genres e.g. Action/Science Fiction or War/Comedy.
I can add two genres with a semicolon but only one is visible in tag window. When I'm in the "Manage Library Field" options menu it seems I can't change it that way.

It's a default field so it can't be changed by users.
However I agree that EditType should be "List" for the Genre field - for music there's usually only 1 genre, but for movies it's common to have multiple.

@Matt, can this be changed please?

Note the difference in appearance between the Genre and Keyword tags.

The Genre Tag only displaying one value in the Advanced Tag Window, until you hover the mouse over it, highlights a discrepancy between how sometimes things are displayed differently in the 2 Tag Windows. In the Standard Tag Window up to 4 Genres are displayed vertically before the dread ellipses, to indicate the tag contains more than 4 values, put in an appearance.
