Title: V29 Feature Request: 64-bit Float output support - ALSA version of VST Plugins

V29 Feature Request:  64-bit Float output support.

MC boasts 64-bit support which should include 64-bit output (Linux, Mac and Windows).

Since the data is reportedly already in 64-bit, writing it out in 64-bit should not be much work while eliminating the final down conversion stage.

Linux ALSA software devices for one.

See my signature below for one example.

So essentially you want a passthough to some other software?

Exactly.  Support ALSA interfaces, plugins, etc.

Why lose precision by downconverting and then upconverting again when a simple write would avoid it ?

It would open up more development options and features sets to MC's cu$tomer base.

Consider them an ALSA version of a VST[3] plugin.
