Title: Feature Request : CRC/Integrity check for video files
Post by: Desktop Videophile on March 19, 2022, 10:13:14 pm
Can we have a CRC/Integrity check mechanism for video files which could self-repair the files using the concept of par files (like the ones we have on usenet ) ? It would be a highly desirable feature which could take care of  file corruption due to bad sectors in disk.

This really should be handled at the filesystem level using scrubbing. Microsoft doesn't seem to agree so it might be worth checking out setting up a Linux MC server with btrfs/xfs/zfs, whichever you prefer.

MS has refs (which I've been using for years instead of NTFS) .... and while I've set "Integrity Streams" to True after while formatting each drive to refs, I'm not sure it does what the OP wants.
