Is there any way to prevent the display Screen to pop up on top (see screenshot) every time I am playing anything on the Mac? I can't get rid of it until I stop playing. It's really annoying when I want to edit while playing music at the same time. Previously, it only popped up when I selected Playing Now but now it comes up regardless what I select and it doesn't go away.
Many thanks for any help!

That's pretty odd looking.
You have a couple of possibilities.
One is View->Display while you are playing. Maybe you have it set to trackinfo and need to set it back to cover art?
The other is in Tools->Options options for what to do on playing.

Thanks Bob, I'll have a look at that

I always have TrackInfo Plugins in use and have never seen anything like that when switching from view to view.
HaWi - check to see if MC has Detached the Display Window; since that can cause some pretty strange effects.

Thanks ET,
I don't think the Display Window was detached but TrackInfo was on. I would very much prefer if I had more control over that. My problem is that once I select Playing Now that Display Window pops up and I cannot get rid of it, no matter what I do. I can select different views but it still stays until I shut down MC and restart. That frustrates me.

HaWi - Which TrackInfo Plugin were you using?
If you are running Monterey check to see if it is Up To Date. This morning my Mac Mini told me there was an update to 12.3.1 available, despite the fact that I'd already updated it to that version a couple of weeks ago.

I don't remember which one it was but it happened with all the ones I tried. My iMac is on 12.3.1 but the MacBook Pro I'm serving MC29 from is old so stuck with 11.6.5

Does the behavior change if you unlock the player tab?

Did you check
Tools->General->Jump on Play (audio) ?

Does the behavior change if you unlock the player tab?
Thanks marko, I'll check that
EDIT: Unchecking the Player Tab does remove the Cover Art when I switch to another tab. Thank you so much marko and Bob, for helping out.

Thanks Bob, it's set to 'None'
