A while back I posted about MC9 no longer finalizing audio CD's. Same thing for the internal burner in my laptop as well as an external burner. Previously, both worked fine. They still both work fine with Windows Media Player and Nero, finalizing audio CD's with both. There were a few responses, but no solutions. Is this just something I keep trying with new builds, in hopes of once again using the feature? As previously explained, the process hangs on the last track. The CD's play in a regular CD player, however, the last song has skips and the CD player ejects the CD either during, or after the last track.

Could you post your system info?
Doof reported a similar problem and emailed me a log file. I haven't been able to fix it yet, when it is fixed you'll see a note in the "fix log" something like "audio session wasn't getting closed with certain CD burners".

The external is at home right now, but it's a TDK USB2 40/12/48:
