Title: Rename, Move, and Copy Files removes the year from the folder name [Solved]
Post by: Steviewunda on April 20, 2022, 08:52:04 pm
When I am moving new music into my library I have the year (in brackets e.g (1996) ) at the end of the folder name, but Rename, Move, and Copy Files removes the year from the folder name. I have "Insert a folder using the original folder name" selected. How do I keep the year in the folder name?

Hi Stevie - see the pic - sorry in German. You can put the expression for the date where you like.

I have "Insert a folder using the original folder name" selected.

That option is only for JTV container folders (TV recordings in JTV format), and does not apply to moving any other media types.

You should add a Directory rule to specify how you want your destination folders to look like.

Thanks Stefan - that works perfectly ;-) In my case I had to add the following to the Directory rule: '[Artist]\[Album] ([Date])'   to get the Date in brackets
