Title: F5, F6 on M1 MacBook
Post by: aliciaviola on April 28, 2022, 10:09:57 am
On my new MacBook Pro 16" 2021 the F5 (refresh) and F6 (moving, renaming files) keys don't work.
Is there an alternate one?

I'm going to assume that you are pressing the function key along with F5 and F6. That being said, you can add a toolbar icon to give you a method other than the menu bar or context menu. I don't think you can remap keys.

The F6 key works on my Mac Air M1, never tried F5.

Thanks for the advice, function key and F5, F6 works.
On my old MacPro and the old  keyboard F5 and F6 worked without an additional key.
Great, I often use them!

In MacOS System Preferences > Keyboard , you can control how the function keys are handled.  There is a check box to make them act like function keys without using the Fn key first.
