Just upgraded to XP home from ME and CD burning does not function any more.
The CD Buring Progress windows is locked on :
"Writing raw lead-in..." and nothing else is happening !
Thanks for a solution.

windows XP has a built in burner software that maybe conflicting.
you might try turning that off to see if it helps.
-
to turn it off, open My Computer, right-click on your cd-burner and choose "properties" from the menu.
Go to the "recording" tab and untick "Enable cd recording on this drive"
Click OK.
Job done.

Thanks for the tip but the problem remains identical.
If you let it run after a while Media Center stops responding.
Any other suggestion ?
Pierre

To rule out buffer under-run, please try burning at 2X and uncheck the "decode direct to cd" option. You can check the "test mode" option to avoid ruining a CD. Does it burn ok with other software?
