Title: JRVR Dropped Frames
Post by: whoareyou on May 26, 2022, 08:57:58 pm
I don't know what to make of this.  With JRVR, my concert video backups (via MKV) seem to play ok, but when you look at the statistics the dropped frames just keep on climbing.  I think the common denominator is that these are 1080 interlaced video.

Switch back to MADVR and they play w/o the dropped frames.

Anyone have idea as to what is going on ?

Your chosen settings are probably too high. If as you say they are interlaced videos, they are going to be 60 fps after deinterlacing, which means every video frame has 16.6ms to render - the stats say yours take 20-24ms.
Switching from FSRCNNX 16 to 8 might already do it, i reckon, with a minimal impact on quality only.

Thanks Hendrick.  This fixed my issue.
BTW - explanation was very good :)
