Title: Upgraded to MC29 -- cannot login to YouTube service from within MC29
Post by: adirob1 on June 11, 2022, 11:09:46 am
Hi there,

Apologies if i am posting this in the wrong forum, its not clear to me where this should be posted other than here.

I upgraded to MC29 and installed on Windows specifically because in MC26 when I attempted to login to YouTube (so i can stream through MC and apply my DSP settings etc...) it crashed MC26.  I've upgraded and the error is different, now it reports that logging in isn't even possible with the embedded browser.  I understand that Google may well have changed the goal-posts on how embedding google/chromium into applications works, but are there any plans to switch to the OAuth model at some point (assuming that is what is required)?

For now, are there any work-arounds you may advise?  ::)

Thanks in advance,

Adrian

Unfortunately you can't, as you're already aware Google blocks embedded browsers like CEF, WebView2, etc. from logging into YouTube. And there's no workaround for that.

Are you sure...but I am still using MC28 (install of MC29 crashes but another story)... on MC28 I am logged into Google on Youtube streaming? This is one of the reasons I moved from MC27 to MC28 to upgrade the browser and documented ability to log into youtube inside the browser.

Has this changed in MC29?

Thx
