Title: CD-ROM won't stop playing
Post by: drosales on March 06, 2003, 09:06:17 am
Here's what I have:
Primary Master: HDD1
Primary Slave: DVD-ROM
Secondary Master: CD-RW (TDK 16x10x40)
Secondary Slave: HDD2

Here's what I did:
1) Remove Secondary Slave HDD2
- The effect was the CD-RW was drive changed from drive H to drive D.  PIO was only mode available.
2) Remove IDE entries from Hardware Manager so that they re-install and detect my CD-ROM's and enable DMA (else PIO only was enabled)
2a) Enable Analog playback on CD-RW.
3) Try playing a CD from the CD-RW through Media Center 9, and it just keeps playing on any drive, even though I press stop, fastforward.  Even when I play an MP3 file, it keeps playing.

Note:  Works fine in Windows Media Player.

:'(

Please Help!  Thanks -Dave

Oh yeah, it looks like it's playing streamed media now because it says 0:00/Live - ? on the track information.  The only way I can stop it is if I eject the CD.

Do you have any audio programs lurking in the background?  Check the lower right corner of your desktop and stop anything suspicious.

No, I don't have any other audio programs running on the lower right corner or anywhere.

I had to choose the option "use digital playback" on the device settings in the options menu.  It works find now.  I didn't think I had to use that option, because historically, digital didn't work for my computer.  It works now.
