When you use the wizard to add a "sort modifier" to a playlist, it seems two-word field names don't work, so I tried "LastPlayed" instead, but that didn't have any effect either. In both cases, the wizard accepts the field name, but it doesn't actually affect the sort order.
Is this a bug, or am I missing something here?

Anyone?

Hi Zoner,
Are you putting the field names in [square brackets]?
That's my only suggestion at the moment...

YES! IT WORKED! Was that a good guess, or is it documented somewhere? I would think that double-quotes would be a much more intuitive way to do it.

that means somthing else

How about a list of the proper sort commands, or better yet, a dropdown menu that comes up when using "sort" with the available commands, or at least the most popular commands (which you could then use to reference to manually enter in which ones you wanted)?
This would be a big help to those of us still learning how to use "sort"...

J river has hired a troll to work on this, maybe when the new help file comes out it will be in there.

Are you able to tell us what, or is it on a "need to know basis"?

Thanks--It will be greatly appreciated!

look in the help file for
"Search Modifiers"
this should give you most if not all.

From a search bar, click on the wizard button, then goto Advanced and then Add Keyword. All keywords in the DB are listed here for your quick reference.
An aside: IMHO it would make more sense to cascade these by the Field Group that they appear in. Heck, even alphabetical order would be good ;)

AH! What a great tip! If I had only discovered the "Add Keyword" option earlier, it would have of course shown me how to do it.
As it is I am overjoyed to finally have my playlist sorted in order of "Last Played" (so that I hear every song in the playlist before it starts repeating).
Now if only I could get the playlist to automatically start playing on startup (see other thread)...

One more thing - how to specify ascending vs descending for a given field?
