Title: universal scroll

My Logitech mouse has assignable buttons and one of the features I like is the universal scroll or the auto scroll.  I would click the button and then move the mouse in whatever scrolling direction I needed.  

I have noticed that MC9 only allows me to scroll up or down when I use the universal scroll.  Can this be fixed?  Is it a known issue?
