As of last night, my installed version of MC9 ßeta no longer works. The Registration splash screen indicates that the trail period has expired, which is fine, but then it closes and exits. The splash screen itself is actually for MJ8, but knowing this is a ßeta makes that an inconsequential issue. I tried downloading the latest version and re-installing, but it still doesn't work. I really don't want to go back to using WMP as MC9 is far superior. Any and all help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Timothy

Make sure you get 9.0.95 from the MC board.
Then you should be able to purchase from the splash screen.
Be careful that you get an MC9 license.

Jim,
I downloaded both copies from this site, so that isn't the problem. However, the splash screen says that the BASIC version doesn't expire. Is this a misprint because of the splash screen being actually for MJ8?
Thanks,
Timothy

try this link
ftp://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter90095.exe

I tried the provided link. Splash screen has changed, but the BASIC version still doesn't work.
Thanks,
Timothy

MC9 does not have a basic version, it does allow you to use it for 30 days after that you need to buy.
MJ8 Does Have A Basic version

Ah. So it is a misprint. Someone should fix the link to MC9 from this URL as it points the user to the version with the wrong splash screen:
http://www.musicex.com/mediajukebox/download.html
Thanks for the help,
Timothy

>> Ah. So it is a misprint.
No
Thats for MJ8
---------------------
Below that it tells you can also try MC9.
-
Yes, it is. Try downloading the MC9 version, set the computer clock to +30 days, and you'll see what I mean. That link to download MC9 on that page points to a version which has the wrong splash screen.
Thanks,
Timothy

Have a nice day.

There seems to be some misunderstanding here. I copied this from the webpage:
2. Download
This download includes the free BASIC version of MJ with a 30-day trial of PLUS features. To keep the PLUS feature set, you can purchase MJ PLUS at any time through the application for only US $24.98
MEDIA JUKEBOX v8.0.393 (9.0 MB) NEW
Click here if you have trouble downloading.
You can also try a copy of Version 9, now in beta (9.0.88 -- 10MB). <----The link on this line points to a version dated 12/13.
More information can be found in the License FAQ or on Interact.
Version 9 has a new name -- JRiver Media Center.
The link to version 9 points to:
http://ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music/MediaCenter9.exe
When I pull up the directory for ftp.jriver.com/pub/downloads/music, I see this:
01/10/03 02:25AM 630,784 CDWriter.ocx
12/11/03 10:49PM 9,888,346 MediaCenter9.exe <---The link points to this one, which has the wrong splash screen.

It would be extremely helpful if someone would update the link on the download page to point to a more current version of MC9.
Thanks,
Timothy

it will be this week I think.
the problem is the one on the download page is more stable than 9.0.95
this is because unicode was added and that caused some problems.
