Hi
I asked this before but got no response. Why does "sort by" not work? I've tried every single option but nothing changes in the sort order!
-
More details please. Where are you?
Is it locked?
-
Definitely Not locked.
However I noticed it's only specific folders. Parent folders or similar sub-folders would have the sorting work, while some others the sorting does not.
All are set for ... thumbnails, no grouping and Not locked.

Hello hello?

If you want help you really need to be more detailed in what you're asking for and what the problem is. How is anyone supposed to help you without that information?
-
What more exactly do I need to supply? It's a simple issue. When selecting sort from the drop down library view ... it does not sort!
-
There has to be more context, because I don't have this issue? So there has to be something specific to you that's causing it.
-
You may want to check your "group by" and turn it off, just to be sure. Also, it's worth testing really simple sort by settings, as opposed to Custom. I'm not sure what settings you are trying.
You should also check your Library View "Customize" area and look at the "set rules for file display". That section not only controls what files are shown, but it can optionally specify sorting.
Brian.

As mentioned above there was no group ... BUT I think you nailed it ... I looked in custom view setting and the "set rules ..." was "sort a to z" ... I removed that and now it all seems to work.
Thanks for taking the time and effort to help.
Ps ... though it appears to work now ... I'm still confused why I remember some of the sub-folders working to be selecting different sort order, while others did not, yet they were under same view scheme!
