I had a problem with the sound and volume settings on V8 and have moved to V9 however the problem remains.
Sound quality is very poor-MP3 play fine with other apps.
Volume is unadjustable, slide does not effect the output of the sound.
Can anyone please help? Problem started when I was trying different kinds plug ins all of which have now been removed.

with the system resources your reporting it is a wonder your system even works.
System resources should not be that low, the only way to fix that is to turn off some of the programs your running. (Chat programs, Norton System Works Etc.....)
Also ASPI is very very very Old
-
What sound card? Latest drivers?
What type output? (direct sound, wave out?)
ASPI is old, will affect CDROM or CD writer performance.
-
you could also go into MC9 and make sure DSP & EQ are turned off, to see if that has an effect

Thank you both for your help.
I have made some changes to some things. Updated some drivers, re-installed my sound card and I'm pleased to report all is now working well. Thanks again for your help and just to prove it here's my new system info, much improved I'm sure you'll agree!!
Faith has been fully restored!!
