Title: Audio Conversion - MP3 > FLAC
Post by: woollies66 on August 26, 2022, 06:31:48 am
Hi

Is there anyway to switch off the annoying pop-up regarding "no quality can be gained" when converting audio files (MP3) > FLAC?

I have searched Tools>Options>...  and can't identify anything obvious to disable.

No.  And you shouldn't do it unless you've got a really good reason.

I'd like to get rid of that warning.

I convert mp3 to flac when I've got an mp3 version and now have a flac version.  I do the convert, to get flac files which I can then overwrite and then "update tags from library".

There is no advantage to doing so, and you're creating a "lossless" format that isn't lossless.  It's not a good idea.

We considered not allowing it at all.
