Title: Running multiple instances with server running - possible to not disable this?
Post by: DougHamm on September 13, 2022, 07:27:57 pm
Hey Matt and all,

Nearly a decade ago this came up in a thread, and at the time it was considered too confusing to have a server running under one user and the client running under a second.  I'm wondering if this could be revisited.  I leave my HTPC userID logged in all the time with server running, but often switch users to my personal userID to web browse, etc. on the theatre PC.  In that mode, I like to have a second instance of JR running, looped back as a client to the server running under the other account.  I've been pulling my hair out wondering why it works for a while and then reverts its setting, until I found out it's by design.  Any chance that design could be overridden somehow?  It really does what I want it to do even though it may seem hokey.
