Title: MakeMKV --> "Backup" as an rip option?
Post by: jmone on September 21, 2022, 06:07:20 am
Would it be possible to add the MakeMKV "Backup" as an option when ripping disks for those of us that want the full disc structure?

When ripping my BD and UHD BD discs I've traditionally used
- AnyDVD running in the background
- Then let MC "rip" the disc
= All good, full copy of the disc on my HDD

Overtime, I've seen AnyDVD fall behind in how quickly it is getting keys for newly released UHD BD.  When this happens I find MakeMKV already supports the disc and I use it to "Back-up" the disc to my HDD then manually import it into MC when finished.  I'd certainly use MC's rip using MakeMKV if the "Backup" feature was an option.

Thanks
Nathan

Yeah, we should be able to add that option shortly.

Awesome! I don't use this feature often but it'll be great to have to it available in MC as well.

I have also noticed AnyDVD does fall behind on supporting the latest releases.  I use both - and in particular AnyDVD for releases with title obfuscation (there are many from a specific studio).
