Title: I can't rip to mpc!
Post by: TURBO on March 07, 2003, 06:08:28 pm
I do have the latest MC version. When MC is encoding to mpc (with any command line), stops at 25 %. Any success stories or I am the only one?. Tia. >:(

I'm running 124 and have the nearly the same problem.  On three attempts it locked up twice on ripping and the third at about 15% thru the encode.

Good to know that I am not the only one. I ended up using EAC. Thanks man. The mp3 guys dont recognize the best codec in the world. Maybe we will have to wait another month to be fixed. Grrr.....  :'(

Use the "External Encoder" option and point "EXE path" to your favorite version of mppenc.exe and use your favorite options.

I use:
mppenc.exe v1.14 Beta
Parameters: --xlevel --quality 6 %IN %OUT
Extension: mpc
Check encoder supports long filenames

But, some would call me paranoid for using anything above --quality 5...  ;D

That's what I've been using too. Also, if you use the external encoder you can be sure you're using the most recent recommended version, which is 1.14.

Thanks. Yes, apparently, that's the only way to do it. Wao, I am listening Al Di Meola and my blood, my brain and my senses match a perfect azimuth with respect to the guitar wave algorithm. ;D

Report this in the bug thread - thats the best way to get it fixed.

I haven't been able to rip or convert to mpc for the last two builds either.
