Can this be addressed in MC30?
https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,132480.0.html (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,132480.0.html)
I've requested in since v27.
-
We are looking into it.
-
Thanks for making the change!
The original request was:
I'm not sure if this is a bug or an improvement idea ...
Can you have MC honor the system language when displaying posters and backgrounds in Theater View?
An example: In TMDB, "Insidious: Chapter 2" has posters and backdrop artwork from several different languages that rotate in the background when the movie is displayed, but not playing.
Can you have MC display only backdrops and posters that either match the system language or do not have a language tag? Or at least make this a user option?
If I can fine tune my request, I would like MC to display the system language and the "No Language" backdrops. It should only filter out non-system language art work.
Can this be tweaked?

Can this change be made in v30?
-
Any progress on this?
-
We made the change a few months ago:
30.0.16 (10/4/2022)
2. Changed: When getting Theater View backdrop images (for movies and TV series) from TheMovieDB, we will attempt to use only the images that are tagged with the language code that matches the default local language. If that fails we will fall back to any language.
-
I saw that and gave further feedback in an earlier post:

Any hope for a fix?
Maybe in v31?

So you want multiple images rotated in the background, but only not the ones with the wrong language?
-
Correct!
The background images would rotate as they do now, but only show system language backdrops and those with no language.
For example if the system language is English, MC would rotate the "No language" and English backdrops while excluding the non-English backdrops.
