Title: Duplicate music files
Post by: traverller75 on October 03, 2022, 04:30:44 pm
I just upgraded to version 29 and all my music files were suddenly duplicated. How do I get rid of these duplicates without eliminating them one at a time?

Also, every time I open MC my music playlist with the title, artist, genre, and rating closes up -- why aren't they fixed in place after setting them one time?

You might install MC30.  It's on the MC30 board here.

Check your auto import options under Tools > Import.

You could restore a backup.  MC makes them automatically.  Take a look at the wiki.

As Jim alluded...  I'm betting this has something to do with import settings.  Do the duplicate tracks also have the same (identical) "filename (path)"?  Add that column to your view, and if the paths are different for the dups... sort by that column and then you can delete all the wrong ones in one step.  Just a guess...
