Title: Extracting the info for one tag from another?
Post by: kevinmcdonough on October 16, 2022, 07:47:55 am
hey all

I'm aware that you can extract tag information from the file path, by telling it the structure of the folders (which ones represent artist, which ones represent album etc) and it can fill in the tag info. Can you do the same from one tag to another.

I've just imported a big set of compilation albums. However the metadata is filled with 'artist - name' in the name tag, and just the name of the compilation in the artist tag. Can I extract the artist info out of the name tag and fill it into the artist space?

Take a look at the wiki topic on Library Tools.  You can fill properties from filename.
