With the new version just released.
Doing a search in JRemote on Android causes the min Windows release to crash/close. There is no error listed on the PC, ergo - close.
This did not occur in the previous version.
Thanks

Just to clarify, did this occur with JRemote, JRiver for Android, or both?
-
JRemote on Android (tablet or phone) and Windows Media Center 30 - latest release.
-
Do you mean JRemote2 or JRiver for Android? Both are our apps that run on Android.

JRemote2

Which version are you talking about? I run JRemote2 Ver. 2.3.1 (shown at top of the Android screen; api21 per App info on phone) on Samsung Galaxy S9 without any issues.
Do you have something newer, if so, where/how did you get it?

What is the "min Windows release"?
I tested by playing to an old Google Chromecast Audio dongle, This Device (phone), and the MC Server PC itself, all under control of JRemote2. Note that I NEVER use the Cast button at top of the JRemote2 Android GUI - it used to severely crash the system and I just never go back to it.

Version of JRemote2 is 2.3.2
The Main Windows 11 release (current) version. HDMI out into processor.

Again, where did you find it? JRiver in the Android app store is not great about posting info on the current version
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=JRiver&hl=en_US&gl=US (https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=JRiver&hl=en_US&gl=US)
When I tried to install it came back and said app was already installed.
Did you have to uninstall previous version in order to install 2.3.2?

Not sure this is worth pursuing at this time ...

It did an update on the previous version I had installed. This is the version number listed.

Not happening for me, so I can't test it now, but thanks for the heads up.

JRemote2 isn't the same as JRiver for Android.

Understood. But the icon on my phone says JRemote2, and the app info says "JRemote2 installed".
Granted the main menu just says "JRemote 2.3.1", and the first menu item says "JRemote Audio", so that adds a little ambiguity but not much doubt about what is presumably installed.
I paid for a JRemote2 license.

What does it say on the splash screen of the Android app?

Screenshots attached for JRemote2 Ver. 2.3.1 Android app on phone:

I do not have JRiver For Android installed.
In my experience, at any given time either the first three music apps all work (i.e. connect to PC MC server and play music, usual case) or else all do not work.
If you suspect a problem with JRemote2, then give one of the other apps a try. If it also has a problem, then that most likely indicates an issue in your system, either with the phone connection, the server, or your renderer. If the other app works, consider re-installing JRemote2.

Thats it! Thanks!
