I am running MC30 in client server mode.
Whenever I open the client, it defaults to a search view I did on the server weeks ago. I would it to show the Recent Albums upon opening. I have changed the view on the server (which used to change the client) and it doesn't make a difference.
How do I set the default client view?
Thanks

I don't run a server/client so perhaps this does not apply, but if you have this set to last location, perhaps try setting it to one of the other options.

Both the Client and the Server are set to Last Location - nada. Still get the two albums that were found in search.

What theme is this?

Dream in Blue - third item down when you sort by most recent:

That said, the screenshots you see in many posts by me, are of the "working version" of the skin that I am making significant updates/improvements to. Hopefully this new version will be ready to upload around Christmas time.

Changing anything in the Startup does nothing. Upgraded to MC30 from MC26. Perhaps there is something which needs resetting or clearing in the registry?

For whatever reason, if you skip major versions, MC sometimes doesn't get all the prior versions settings restored properly. First backup your current library and then try this:
With MC 30 open, go to File/Library/Restore Library… . In the ensuing dialog be sure to tick the Restore Settings checkbox. From there, browse to the MC 26 backup folder, and select the very last backup zip file. If you don't know where the MC 26 backups are stored, look at the third picture. That said, it will likely populate with the correct location for you automatically.

Uninstalled 26 so the backups are not there. However, realize this is only on the client. The server (which has direct access to the music) does not exhibit this problem.

We have come full circle back to my first post then - that is, I personally don't have a client/server setup, and therefore have likely exhausted my very thin knowledge of possible solutions.
Maybe one of the many network gurus on the forum will chime in with a solution. Best of luck.

Appreciate it! Thanks!

Reinstall of server and a 4+ hour reimport of audio fixed it. Guess backup did not restore properly.

An inelegant solution, but a solution nevertheless!
I always hang onto the previous MC major version for several months before deleting it. In case of emergency, it allows you to restore from the last backup of the previous working MC version.
