Title: I was playing a song...
Post by: antenna on November 19, 2022, 10:00:51 pm
I was playing a song and I noticed that the title of song had a typo.

So I go into the Tag view, and I corrected the typo.

In the Playing Now screen I see on the lower right corner that there is a change queued up to be done once the song finishes playing.

OK, I gotta say, many folk may not notice this type of detail.

The "I can't change that right now because it is in use, but once it is available, I'll make the change" aspect of it.

But I've written software that had to work in real-time (X.25 networking) and I noticed this queuing.

Major kudos to the architects of Media Center.

Each day as I use Media Center, I notice the amazing architecture and design skills that have gone into this product that I ~just want to play music for me.~

Thank you.

Your efforts are appreciated here.

Antenna - that message in the bottom right corner is telling you that the Song Title has been updated in the Database and MC is waiting to write that corrected Song Title back to the actual file, something MC can't do until it has finished playing the track.
I think he knows that and he's saying it's impressive.

Thanks, antenna.
