There's a problem with trackinfos where if the first thing you try to do after starting MC is to play a track that will display a trackinfo (instead of cover art for example).
I'm trying to figure out why that is but you can work around it by bringing up the internal web browser just once before playing anything.
You can do that by having MC start with the start page, or hitting the cloudplay page or streaming page.

Thanks Bob, I'll try that

That should be fixed in the next build.

Thanks Bob, I appreciate the rapid fix. The work-around you suggested did work for me, too.

I am getting the crash again on my MacBook Pro with MC30.0.49. I don't know if it is connected to the fact that I am trying to play through HDMI?
Many thanks for any help

Please try build 50 which will be out shortly. Thanks.

Will do, thanks Bob!

Unfortunately, .50 also crashes when I try to play anything. Just on the MacBook Pro. On the iMac it's been fine.

Oh that's interesting. It's a completely different crash stack and it's using the old browser code (on MacOS 11)
I suppose the iMac is on Ventura?

Sorry, Bob, I might have been unclear. The iMac is on 12.6.2 and has no problem. The MacBook Pro is on 11.7.2 and is crashing when I try to play anything.
I am using the MacBookPro "headless" and accessing by VCN. It is connected to my AV Receiver via HDMI and I use it mainly to play music locally, but sometimes also remotely.
Many thanks for looking into this. Please let me know if there is any additional info I can provide.

It's trying to get cover art on the open of the audio device on the one that's failing. Not sure why, perhaps it has something to do with running "headless". I'll check tomorrow.

Thanks Bob,
Right now, after some playing around with HDMI connection and settings on the Marantz, I can play tracks again on the MacBook. What I do see often now, too, is that my tabs (all locked) disappear or have been renamed after restarting MC.
It's not a critical issue but a bit annoying. It's weird because it doesn't happen all the time but increasingly more often. If I don't lock the tabs it seems to occur less. I'll monitor for a while and if it persists, I'll submit a log.

It appears thread 11 is looking up cover art on a file that doesn't have it when you hit play.
(that's an option in MC's settings).
It works on my machine, perhaps turn that off and see it the crash goes away?
That would be a hint that I'm on the right trail.

Thanks Bob, will do
