When I try to rename and move a file (or copy) it does make it look like it has copied it in JRiver, but physically the file is not in its new location and no renaming has occurred.
This problem has occurred ever since I reinstalled MC30 to my new computer in November.
MC30 has no problem ripping a CD and putting them in the exact same folder.

Please read the wiki topic and make sure you've checked the box "Directories".

I have done both, as you see in the picture I posted with my question.
But thank you for the tips.

Before you complete the entry, there are examples of the files on the right. Hover your mouse above them to view the destination.

The problem is that JRiver tell s me it has finished moving the file, but the file is still in the original position with no changes.
So looking at where J-roiver sends the file does not help.
Only issue apears when I try to play the same file in for instants SAM Broadcaster.

One reason could be that source file location isn't anymore what MC thinks it is so validate that the file actually exist in the original folder i.e. the real file path matches with MC "original" file path. One test to verify it would be just trying to play file in MC. If it plays then MC's current filepointer is correct

Are you using copy instead of move?

It all looks good. The only thing I could think of was "... New PC..." and possibly a folder permissions/ownership/write access issue. I do not know if CD ripping happens in an elevated state that allows the write inspite of any of that. Stumped.

Thank you, i checked that and it's not write restriction and I tried to move to different folders and same issue everywhere. But i will double check again.

This may not be relevant to TheTsar68's question but I've noticed when using Move, Rename & Copy to Rename files after importing them the moving and renaming on my hard drives happens quickly. What sometimes takes a while is my Library updating to the relocated files display properly in the Tree on the left side of my screen. It always happens, it sometimes takes a few minutes, though.
