Title: Transcoding when sending to a particular device?

I have some video files that will not play through my A/V receiver (connected to the TV).
I think JRiver has a way to deal with this, but I'm not sure how.
I would like JRiver MC to transcode to a preferred format when playing to that device (zone), but not, for example, when playing to my local PC monitor.
Is this possible in close to real-time, so I don't have to transcode prior to watching?
