go into a topic, exit

if you click on the mark topics as read it will mark all as read.

sorry, i still don't get it . .
i opened a topic (OT Australia), then clicked 'back', marked 'mark topics as read', the machine indicated a process (green dots in the bottom of ie6), jumped back to boards/general, then i re-opened mediacenter 9, but the topic was still there . . . . can't it be removed?

No

This forum works like most internet forums do.

There maybe some options on other internet forums that this forum does not have.

Internet forums do not work like News Group Forums

okvaal:

KingSpartas right - you cant hide read topics or mark individual topics.

Choosing 'Mark topics as read' sets ALL topics as read, ie removes all the 'new' indicators.

You can choose 'notify of replies' for a topic to find out whenever someone posts a new response.

The 'new' indicators show you if there are any new posts since you last logged in. Refresh your browser once youve viewed them to remove this indicator.

You can use a combination of these to at least make sure you dont miss postings in topics you are interested in. But I dont think you can specificaly do what you want.

Hope that helps.
