I have a pair of full range electrostats, QUAD ESL 989.
I would like to sum the L and R signals to mono below say 120Hz only, to limit the diaphragm excursion below that frequency and still have the right bass level.
Can I do that, for instance in the DSP function?
TIA

Member Wesayso educated me: In the DSP, you can enable M-S encoding, which splits the signal in a mono component (M) and a stereo component (S).
Next, high-pass the S component only, which leaves the low frequencies in the M(ono) channel.
Then, enable M-S decoding which should restore the stereo signal, but now with the low frequencies mono-d below the high-pass freq mentioned above.
I'm not sure about the relative levels in this situation. Do they have to be adjusted before doing the decode step?
