Title: Cannot register

Hi

I can't register MC 9.0. I get a error message:

Error restoring media centerlicense:
BB initialization failure

On every attempt!

Any help is appreciated

Thanks for trying.  It could be an older version.  Try updating from this page:

What Version Of MJ did you buy? Or did you buy MC9?

And Do You Remember The Date?

If you have A License For MC9 did you have The Server Send You An E-mail so you can get your MC license code And Make Sure It Is The Same?

I just bought MC9 today,

I have recieved the register file and license code, when I initialy tried to register through the web-page, I had a diffrent error message.

I have been a happy registered user of MJ7 and 8 and wanted to upgrade to MC9!

Please copy your system info from MC Help and paste it here.

When you purchase, the registration should be automatic.  Check Registration Info in MC Help to see the current status of the program.

Please be specific about what you are trying and what happens.

I can't open MC9 anymore because the evaluation period is done. So I can´t go to the help menu!

It was running fine until I tried to registrer, and now it stops responding when I try to restore my registration. With the error I have mentioned earlier!

But what I will try now Is a complete uninstall of all MC9 stuff including dlls and so on and then try again!

The problem is that there was an error message during my first registration, an i think that i might have caused that problem because of my firewall!

That is what I can give you right now!

If you go to the Restore page and generate a new Install Key, you can save that .mjr file to your PC.  Then execute it from Windows Explorer.  The Install Keys are only good for 14 days.

All restores for V9 will be reset when we release, so don't worry about using them now.

Also, use IE when you visit the Restore page.

Failed again, the error message I get when I try to restore using IE is:

error restoring Media Center license:
Failed opening registry. You must have 'administrator' privilege to install license

I have all the privilege to use my computer so I really don't get this errror message, I am using XP home edition single user!

And if i run the file, I get the other error message!!!

Are you logged in to Windows as a user with admin privileges?

IE thinks it is not true.

MC is trying to write to the registry and it cannot.

It is always possible that the error message is wrong.

Try uninstalling MC.  Install the latest version again and see what happens.

I have done that four times so far, I do not think a fifth time will do me any good!

I will make another approach tomorrow, thanks for the help so far!
