When I use a simple search or even the drop down options in the simple search, there does not seem to be a wildcard character, e.g. find all files (or artists or albums) that start with "When I fall...." I have checked the wiki and there doesn't appear to be a (non search language) way to add a wildcard at end of search. Maybe this can be an enhancement, unless I am missing something in the awesome capabilities of MC. (It would be okay if the wildcard included all items such as files, artists, albums)

The default search is "contains", ie, files that contain your search text in one of the common search fields.
You can search for things starting or ending with your string by using square brackets:
when I fall - shows files containing this
[when I fall - shows files starting with this
when I fall] - shows files ending with this
Note that not all fields are included in the default search.

Thank you very much. I should have seen that. I feel very stupid now and should have had more faith in MC.

Note that not all fields are included in the default search.
But MC lets you make any tag searchable.

But MC lets you make any tag searchable.
Which you do by activating the option indicated in the "Manage Library Fields" tool.

Or use "[all]=search text" to search all fields.
