Title: New user - JRiver blocks other apps from playing sound?

I am having an issue with JRiver. It gets in the way of my HTPC use, as if I want to watch some Youtube there is NO sound if JRiver program is still open. I have to close it and wait a while before Youtube/Spotify etc. can play any sound.

(This also gets in the way of the usage of JRiver, as I am constantly closing JRiver to use my PC. Then there is no server for Gizmodo to connect ... when I to play some music in JRiver which I'd like remote control from my phone.)

Any ideas?

Read about exclusive mode.  That's likely the reason.

If you stop (instead of pause) JRiver, exclusive mode will be released.
