Over the past few weeks, MC 30 in Windows 10 has started having problems which results often in hard crashes of the app.
- It stalls on start-up to Theatre View and if I press anything it says "Media Center 30 is not responding". Sometimes it comes back if left for 30ish seconds
- Seeking data for a new movie or series through the "Get move and TV info" option doesn't seek data and also can crash
Nothing has changed to hardware in the past six months. I use a ASUSTOR NAS on my Network but it was fine
Could this be a recent update? It's super frustrating
Please help and thanks

Probably not an MC update.
Anything that prevents data from being read could cause problems. Antivirus is a common cause. Configure Windows Defender according to the thread here.
The NAS could also do that. You could test a small library of local files.

I did research before posting and configured the Windows Defender. I will see if any changes have happened to my NAS or it's connection to the HTPC. Appreciate the quick reply.
I updated Windows just now and it's still happening.
Will try the new lib of small files to see if it's maybe the library size
-
It won't be a problem with library size.

Unfortunately I cannot seem to fix the crash/hang issue. Windows Defender is configured. I have whitelisted my HTPC. Really stuck now. Now MC30 wont get any data on movies. It just hangs
-
Firewall?
-
Let me see if that is the issue. I will manually add the MC30.exes

When adding network file locations, is it best to add "\\location" or map a network drive?
-
Weird. A new installation of new NVIDIA drivers seems to have fixed the issue. I also did change the library location to mapped network drives instead of \\locations. One of those fixed it ?

Thanks for reporting what you found. Either drive method should be fine.
