Title: KeystoneCop's YADB problem
Post by: JimH on February 22, 2003, 06:36:51 am
[copied here from the 9.0.119 bug thread]

[KeystoneCop said:]

After each group of YADB lookups get the following error msgs.

 (http://benali.keystonecop.net/mcmsg.jpg) started with prior version.

I know YADB is ALPHA, so I really am trying to be patient.  Maybe all the new things are taking most of your test time.  Sure will be glad when you have time to get this back like it was about 3 months ago.

Try searching for a file with that name.  I'll bet it's a Windows temp file and that your temp file space is full.

Do this (AFTER you've found that file):

Empty your trash.

Do IE/Internet Options/Temp Internet Files/Delete files.  It may take several minutes.

Then try YADB again.

file not found.  cleaned temp files .. tried again.

get the same type of msg for each group.

just a fyi (C:\Documents and Settings\keystonecop\Local Settings\Temp\JRTemp) is empty as well.

then i deleted all the temp files in local settings, same results as before.

maybe there is something with your data files.

if a CD is not found I think MC logs it into the database and if it is trying to look in a corupt database file it maybe showing you an error message.

maybe if you uninstall and reinstall

Make sure Media Center And Media Jukebox Folders Are Removed.

>> I know YADB is ALPHA
It is Beta, Not Alpha

Did you delete the files through IE?

Yes deleted files with IE.
Then tried Kings suggestion.

same problem.. only added about 200 songs to new data base..  tried YADB.. same thing.

Are you doing Track lookups or CD lookups?  They are different.

doing Track lookups

So you're trying to look up names of identified tracks.

The track database is still filling up, so you may not get too many hits.  What do you find?  Does it work at all?

Yes track look up works, but very poor success. about 1 in a 100..  But i am having the same poor luck with the album look ups.  I printed labels for about 100 cds from MJ about 3 months ago,  cannot find any of them with MC. well about the same found 3 after trying about 30.
(will wait for things to get better)

Still would like to look up albums from tracks on hard drive.

Back to the error messages, this started with version 118,  i have to hit ok for each batch. then it keeps going.

I just looked up a track it found before, and it found it again.  just have to hit ok all the time.

From small minor problem to HUGE problem.  After deleting all of MC and reloading.  imported the media files.  each time MC starts it want to search again, and it does not keep the Library.  tried to backup libary, says it failed also.

I have not seen anyone with this problem your having.

sounds like it is a problem with your system's OS, and maybe as JimH said Registry maybe it.

Did that..  askes to scan, does it, then askes to scan again, does it..  won't save and no library. does 2 scans unless i say cancel each time MC starts up.

try the plugin i just put in media center plugins

it has the new registry keys media center 9 is using now.

Chart And Lyrics Finder 1.0.26

=====================================

You may have problems with dup finder it has not been updated.

also you should not need it with Media Center 9

due to you can use the ~dup option in MC 9.0.119

Well it seems MC is not reading the registry in HKCU

Try the posted Chart Finder in the MC9 plugins i posted this morning.

it will place the registry in HKLM

I will fix Gonkulator then

I am having the same problem doing a YADB track lookup.  Cos I was on holiday last week I jumped straight from 113 to 120 and this eror appeared then. Exactly the same as Keystone Cops...

~dup

~NoDup

if you go to media Library type in

~dup

hit return

Then edit what you just typed in

add this line

[artist],[name],[duration]

what you get then is a list of all files that have dups.

if you add the [duration] the matched dups will all have the same duration.

this way you can see if you have exact match files, if the duration was not the same then it would not match and if you did have another song by the same name it maybe another version of the same song.
