Title: Idpi can't connect to my NAS
Post by: bmunroe on May 07, 2023, 07:56:35 am
My IdPi cannot connect to my NAS music volume.

Synology nas, works fine for other computers.  In fact, I can mount my NAS music folder to other raspberry pi's running the linux version of MediaCenter.

I am going to 20 (external media menu), 10 (add) and then entering the following:
Path: //192.168.1.100/volume1/Music
Directory name: MusicNAS
<<path>> on a windows computer: N
Read-only or Read-Write: rw
access <<path>> as guest: y

At that point MC checks to see if it can access the NAS, and it returns with a failure

As I mentioned, I can mount this volume from other pi's without a problem, and it is also mounted in my network in windows explorer.

Did you reboot?

I rebooted, check iboth "display configuration" and "display status". both were empty.  Retried adding the network drive.  same problem, returned a failure

I'm not sure whether you can, but try leaving the directory name blank.

No can do.  The question pops up again if left empty

The input information looks fine. You could double-check the path, and especially check for character case because they are case-sensitive. Are you able to get read-write access as a guest?

I connected our IdPi to a Synology NAS. I documented it in https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,133036.0.html (https://yabb.jriver.com/interact/index.php/topic,133036.0.html). Try checking the File names, Synology NAS, and Mounting media folders sections.
