Post by: rossp on February 21, 2003, 12:31:35 am
Hi Guys,
I have installed a traxdata cd burner in my system. MC see's it ok but when I try to burn an audio cd it starts the copy box and then the following appear:

Preparing to write
writing raw lead-in
writing: <song name>
ejects the cd
logical unit is in the process of becoming ready

It hasn't even finished writing the first track of the cd.

Anybody got a clue....

Ross

To rule out a buffer under-run problem, try burning at 2X and let us know the results. Also, uncheck the "direct decoding" option.
Your drive *should* work since I think I've got the same one and it works fine for me.

Thanks JohnT, I assumed that there was a bug due to all
the posts about burner errors and did little investigation of my own , nero works therefore MC has a bug!!!

If I down the speed to 6x write then all works fine, at 8x speed I get a buffer underun, and the write fails. Can u increase the buffers so I can write at the max speed of the burner or do I have the stick upside down...

Thanks for youre help with the fix

Ross

There's not much you can do with the current version. Of course, if you uncheck "decode direct" you should be able to burn at full speed. We will be trying to improve the efficiency of the data path that decodes and sends data to the burner.
