Title: Way to change hardcoded Field Types?

Is there any way to change database field type information that is "hard coded" in MC? Basically, I would like to change the Edit Type for the Notes field from Large Value to Standard. Obviously the preferences dialog doesn't allow this. My question is, is there any way to change this or any other such uneditable field by editing a registry key or some prefs file?
