Title: Window Management MC31 on Intel Macs
Post by: dorianm on June 29, 2023, 10:21:43 am
On a multi window set up, on a MacPro, with two 27" computer monitors and a 77" LG screen, the main window and the EQ window both seem to fail at determining the correct size of the monitors they are in.

1. Can't get the main screen to be full screen, as it always shows the red, yellow, green buttons.

2. EQ window fails to fit into any of the windows, so it's impossible to save presets or reach the 20khz without moving the window.

What is the full version of MC that you're using?

MC Mac only uses the Mac "Fullscreen" mode in Display view mode.

Ok, so all we need is to fix the EQ which doesn't compress the view to fit to screen size.  I don't really have a problem with the main view.

Media Center uses its own method of drawing windows and whatnot (like other apps like Steam and Photoshop). The green/red/yellow spotlight buttons are also images that are part of the skins bundled with MC so it doesn't use the system's spotlight buttons.

I have a rather small resolution on my work mac's main monitor.  It's less than 1080p.  It shows the DSP window and the EQ section of the DSP in a window 2/3 the size of my screen.  It's possible your DSP window is artificially too large.  I've seen this happen with the RM&C window a few times.

The normal remedy is to grab one of the visible corners and resize it by dragging.  It will not show a resize handle, but all 4 corners WILL resize with MC for Mac.

If you have no success with that, please post a screen shot so we can better visualize your issue.

Best of luck.
Brian.

Resize the DSP window.  You only need to do this once.  You can resize it from any of the 4 corners.  Just click and drag any of the 4 corners to resize it.  You might need to resize, move the window and resize again.  When you get it to a size that fits your screen, it will remember that size.

There is a issue with making it small on retina monitors that are less than 4k it seems. No problem on non-retina.
It is from trying to deal with VST plugins that weren't sizing properly.
Looking for a different way to deal with them.
