Title: BD "Forced Subtitles" with "Title Mode"
Post by: htnut on June 29, 2023, 01:32:33 pm
With MC31, is there any progress made on reliably displaying forced subs in the various forms that exist?

When using BD Menus "Menu Mode", "forced" subtitles seem to 100% display.  Yeah!  Now, I'm aware that the BD Java "magic" is driving the subtitle action in these cases... but if somehow, that "magic" could be read and used for forced sub selection during "title mode" playback that would be great.

For a variety of reasons I would prefer to use Title Mode... and with this it's an interruption to find that a scene has some foreign language in just one spot, requiring fumbling around to turn on the correct subtitle track.

I'm not interested in having to preview and/or research every movie to set up the correct subtitle track in advance, or creating an MKV (which also requires pre-selection of the correct subtitle track).  I just want to launch a new movie I've purchased and rest assured that if there are forced subtitles included - that I'll see them.

Thanks.
