Title: Random Crashes
Post by: lhwidget on July 30, 2023, 11:54:47 am
For several versions (maybe 28? and up) now, I've had a persistent problem.

I leave MC running 24/7 for TV recording and after a few hours, maybe a couple of days, it won't be open any longer.  Once it left the "Didn't exit Normally" window up, most of the time it's gone, like someone shut it down.  Anyone else experiencing random unexplained shutdowns?

I would enable logging under the Help options and check timestamps around the time it occurs (or attach here).

We need a crash dump file.  You should get it when you click Report Problem.

You could post here or email it to logs at jriver dot com.

Here's another set of log files from a crash today.
I sure hope you can see what's happening Matt.

Thanks,
Jay

It's in the PortableDeviceApi.dll when it crashes in both crash dumps.  It's not JRiver code.

You could try removing and ignoring any devices you have attached.

Sorry to not have a more concrete answer.
