Are you using windows media encoding? There was a problem with that encoder. Try ripping to "uncompressed wave" or "ape" and see if it works.
Thanks.
-
I've been reporting exactly the same problem as ehart for the last 7 or so builds.
Tried ripping to different formats but it makes no difference.
I see that he and I are both on Win98 - could this be a similar situation to the volume control slider thingy ??
I'd be really grateful if JRiver Men could put some priority into this one. It's a real pain in the posterior and I'm having to rip using WMP at the mo.....
Thanks....Jim

No go. Tried both "ape" and "uncompressed wave" and as soon it says copying
I get "Read Track Failed. Unknown Error = 1"

Sorry about that. I think I've got it fixed. It was a Unicode issue on Win98. By chance, did you have "rip/encode simultaneously" disabled? And does it work ok if you enable that option and select something other than "uncompressed wave" for the output format?

JohnT - yep, working here on 115 under the conditions that you suggested. I'm just downloading 116 and will try it out on various settings and come back to you...
BTW, what's the difference between rip and auto-rip please?
Thanks John - keep up the good work..

JohnT - just tested out ripping on 116...
After I select Rip CD, I always get a box stating that no audio tracks have been selected for copying...
Then, sometimes it hangs there but sometimes it then tries to connect to YADB
Then, sometimes it hangs on the YADB connection but soemtimes it actually gets there
Then, sometimes it hangs there, sometimes it gets the track info and sometimes it says that it can't find the album.
The CD's I've been playing with are in good order and popular enough to be on YADB.
Once I'm past this stage, the ripping seem ok. I've tried various combinations of MP3 VBR and uncompressed wave withe the 'simultaneous' option checked and unchecked.
Wer'e getting there.....
Thanks - Jim
