Title: Activate Tooltips with a Button?
Post by: Drybonz on September 02, 2023, 12:49:02 pm
The movie info tooltips (in standard view) are constantly getting in my way, but when I want them they are very nice to have.

When I hover over a movie, I get three button options... "play, tag and menu".  The menu button isn't useful to me because I can just right-click and get the same menu.

So... I'm wondering if there is a way to customize those buttons... I would love to be able to turn off the info tooltip activation by hovering and instead replace that "menu" button I'm not using with an "Info" button (or something like that) so that I can pop the info tooltip screen up only when I need it.

Probably a stretch, but is there any way I can customize to reach this goal?  Thanks for the help.  :)

1) Hover over toolbar, right click Customize Toolbar.
2) Add one or both of the following buttons:
- Toggle Tooltips
- Tooltips

Thanks.  It looks like this allows me to toggle the tooltips off (by mouse hovering)... but doesn't let me activate the tooltip, manually with a button... which is mainly what I want to do... push a button and the tooltip pops up.  Am I missing something with the customizing the toolbar tip?

I misunderstood. Available buttons do not do what you want.

Would be a great thing to add to a skin somehow, or have a button added like I describe, above.

Hi,

Because of this "problem", I always use the theatre view for films.
I was also annoyed by the uncontrolled appearance and disappearance of the tooltips, as my wife was mostly too slow reading the complete text  ;)
