Title: JR 31 install. HDR, Game Mode, dropped frames
Post by: Wungun on September 12, 2023, 11:10:00 am
So as I understand it, the new JRV renderer has to have Windows HDR video mode enabled to work? I'm able to do this in Windows, but only with "game mode" enabled in the TV... Which is fine
Once I got to full screen however, game mode enables (HDR is working) but the display goes to its native frame rate of 60p.
When I used MadVr, I could use the display mode to render the video in the encoded frame rate (24p. For movies) of the media.
Is this a big deal or no? Image looks great BTW!
Set to balanced default mode, however, I get a handful of frame drops every 5 or 6 seconds in higher bandwidth encoded media.
Rendering performance shows about 9.3ms average performance on these videos as well as lower bandwidth videos.
Is this a buffering issue? I'd really not wish to drop down to a lower quality setting.
Any idea how to smooth out the playback?
