Would an Intel N100 based miniPC be enough for 4K HDR passthrough using JRVR?
If not, what would be the minimum for that?
(ideally for the Quality preset of JRVR)
Many thanks in advance
-
Yes, it will work fine, I've been using an N5105 for a couple of years now, no issues.
-
Thak you BryanC
This is totally unbeliavable, really cool!
-
You'll not be able to run the Quality preset reliably on integrated Intel GPUs, it requires quite a bit more GPU power, but that will largely depend on what content you play. Upscaling costs performance, pass-through is much cheaper.
-
No upscaling would be needed, only 4K HDR passthrough (optionally with HDR to HDR tone mapping)
-
HDR to HDR tonemapping will probably not work. I can only passthrough HDR and use FastBicubic chroma upscaling for most content.

I have just ordered a Xiaomi Mini PC with an Intel i5- 1240p; I will test it and report back
-
If anyone does use the N100, I'd love to know how far they can push the iGPU with JRVR.
I mostly have N5015s and some J4125s so I'm curious.

The Xiaomi is out of stock so I ended up ordering an Intel i5-13500H based Minisforum miniPC

I will open a separate thread to share my experience with JRVR
